Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer hopes that striker Alexis Sanchez will be able to help the club finish in the top four of the Premier League this season.
Solskjaer said this after the defeat of Manchester United 3-0 in Barcelona in the quarterfinal match of the second stage of the Champions League on Tuesday.
Lionel Messi scored twice and put Philip Coutinho in the third goal, as Barcelona made it to the semifinals with a score of 4: 0.
Sanchez, who returned from a knee injury that he received six weeks ago, came to meet with Jesse Lingard in the 80th minute during the defeat of Manchester United in Barcelona.
Chilean International received warm applause from the fans at Camp Nou, where he spent three years at Barça and came close to scoring a header that was perfectly scored by goalkeeper Ter Steghen.
“Alexis was injured on March 1,” said Birmingham Liv Solskjaer after the match.
"So he was absent for six weeks, and it was important that he got 15 minutes on the field for his mentality, so that he knew that his knee was ok and he was close to achieving the goal, and he had several other when he demonstrated his talent
"I hope he can give us a good push by the end of the season to get into the top four."
