Champions League: what Marc Overmans did on the field after Ajax defeated Ronaldo's Juventus

The Ajax football director and the great Arsenal, Marc Overmans, could not contain their celebration on the field because their team surprised Juventus in Turin on Tuesday night.

The Dutch team made a spectacular comeback in Italy to secure their place in the semifinals of the competition.

Cristiano Ronaldo's header after 28 minutes put Juve ahead before the goals from both sides of the half from Donny van de Beek and club captain Matthijs de Ligt gave Ajax a 2-1 victory.

Overmars was clearly caught in the moment.

The 46-year-old player, dressed in a shirt, tie and trousers, set out to hold a diving celebration in the field.
He did not go as far as he could have done when he was a player, but few would have experienced the euphoria of having seen his team defeat Real Madrid and Juventus of the Champions League.

Overmars played more league games for Ajax than any other club during his career, which also included spells at Arsenal and Barcelona.

And Ajax's victory at Allianz Stadium marks the club's return to the last four elite European competitions for the first time since they were defeated in the 1997 semi-finals by Juventus.

Last month, Overmars signed a new contract that keeps him as director of Ajax football until 2024.

The new agreement came amid speculation that he was online to fill the same vacancy at Arsenal.

During his time with the Gunners, Overmars made 143 appearances in all competitions between 1997 and 2000, and helped the club win the Premier League and FA Cup in 1998.

He retired from playing soccer in 2009 and has been part of the Ajax administration since 2012.

Henry Onyekuru explains why he ignored the PSG move

Super Eagles forward Henry Onyekuru has revealed that he successfully completed a doctor at Paris Saint-Germain before opting to join Everton in June 2017. PSG, who had seen out of the competition of English and German clubs, thought that Onyekuru was about to sign for them after he completed the medical examination in Paris. But the 21-year-old forward, who scored 22 goals for Belgian first-class club Eupen in the 2016/2017 season, canceled the deal at the 11th hour. "I made a doctor for Paris St-Germain on a Friday and we had to wait until Monday so they could make both signatures [me and another player] official. "Then I talked to my friends because I have some good friends, and I asked them if it was a good idea to play in Paris and they gave me their opinions." "I also talked to my mother and she said she just wants me to play because I'm young and I still need to improve, and that's where the right club will come from." "So I dec

Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar  Solskjaer  hopes that striker Alexis Sanchez will be able to help the club finish in the top four of the Premier League this season. Solskjaer  said this after the defeat of Manchester United 3-0 in Barcelona in the quarterfinal match of the second stage of the Champions League on Tuesday. Chilean International received warm applause from the fans at Camp Nou, where he spent three years at Barça and came close to scoring a header that was perfectly scored by goalkeeper Ter Steghen. “Alexis was injured on March 1,” said Birmingham Liv  Solskjaer  after the match.
